Collserola: hiking behind the city

You can be on a dirt track with the city noise fading behind you within forty minutes of leaving Plaça de Catalunya, and the network of marked paths is dense enough to build routes of any length.

Carretera de les Aigues

Ten mostly flat kilometres of consolidated track with the whole city stacked on your left. The Vallvidrera funicular from Peu del Funicular drops you a short walk from the path.

The Tibidabo climb

A steady 200-metre ascent from the water path up to the temple on the skyline. The final stretch comes out above the amusement park with the entire plain spread out below.

Vallvidrera to Sant Medir

A quieter woodland route through the park's northern half that most day visitors never touch, finishing at a hermitage surrounded by holm oaks.
